The Concert
Ready to lift your spirits and take action to turn this democracy ship around? Join us in person for Fight Back with a Song! This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to donate what would have been your ticket price (or more if you are able) to support worthy Democratic candidates in a position to flip or hold important districts; but they need financial support!
We have gathered some amazing folk/Americana/blues artists who have generously donated their services to raise awareness of important close races and how contributions can transform our Congress into one that takes it’s Constitutional role seriously.
Each artist will perform a fifteen minute set of inspirational and entertaining songs in one continuous two hour concert. Are you looking for a reason to be hopeful? Then you are in the right place.
Join Mark Erelli, Cosy Sheridan, Alastair Moock, Les Sampou, Kemp Harris, The Lied To’s, Tom Smith, and Ruthann Baler for what promises to be a memorable, uplifting concert. Click for more info about our artists.
Concert Organizers
When musician friends Ruthann Baler, Doug Kwartler, Susan Levine, Margo Smith and Tom Smith came together to discuss the terrible state of our country and the horrible events making news and creating outrage by the hour, they shared their feelings of hopelessness. What could ordinary musicians do to make a positive difference? But hopelessness gradually morphed into action and enthusiasm when they realized the power of music to motivate large numbers of people. That was the birth of this concert of noteworthy folk/americana artists to raise awareness and solicit voluntary donations to support Democratic candidates with the goal to flip the Senate and House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The name of the concert is from the title of a recent song by Tom Smith.

About Force Multiplier
The Fight Back with a Song! committee has teamed up with Force Multiplier, an independent, all-volunteer, self-funded organization to identify where donations can have the biggest impact. Their highly skilled and trustworthy experts work to identify the races most likely to increase the power of Democrats in the House and Senate. Their recommendations are driven by research, not ideology. One hundred percent of donations go directly to the candidates or organizations they recommend. Donors choose where to invest among their evolving slates of candidates and groups.
Force Multiplier has a three prong strategy to secure victory in the 2026 midterm elections:
• Fighting autocracy by supporting groups working to uphold the Constitution, the rule of law and free and fair elections. They promote civil resistance in town halls, public protests, and similar mobilizations.
• Creating favorable conditions for winning the midterms by supporting groups working to counter far-right propaganda and to engage voters.
• Supporting candidates in competitive races to win Democratic control of the US House and close the gap in the Senate in 2026.
There are separate donate links for each of these efforts. We encourage visitors to support the curated lists of House and Senate candidates via our Donate page. Your donation through our Force Multiplier links will NOT result in your contact info being shared with the campaigns. For more info about Force Multiplier, please visit their website.
About ActBlue
The various fundraising efforts curated by Force Multiplier are processed by ActBlue, a leading nonprofit, online fundraising platform and technology conduit used by Democratic candidates, progressive organizations, and non-profits to accept donations. It simplifies small-dollar, grassroots fundraising through a secure, user-friendly interface, allowing donors to easily support causes and candidates. For more info about ActBlue, click here.
Why our concert committee doesn’t accept donations directly
For legal reasons, the Fight Back with a Song! concert can not accept donations and then pass them along to candidates. This is why we do not charge for tickets to this event. Our goal is to raise awareness, encourage participation, and make sure that every dollar that is raised goes to the candidates or other worthy projects. Our committee and featured artists all contribute their services as volunteers.
